Things may have seemed very quiet since Meat Beat did a few live shows last November but it is not so. Jack has been very busy working on new tracks – we are not sure yet how these will be released but we’ve already added one new track on the site for your streaming pleasure.
We are also looking into the possibility of some Meat Beat shows this September in France, Belgium, Germany Holland and the UK.
And finally Jack has been asked to remix Terry Riley’s classic “In C” for the Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble in Michigan. Last year the Ensemble received a lot of nice attention for its Steve Reich CD, "Music for 18 Musicians”, including spending 11 weeks on the Billboard charts. Other remixers will include DJ Spooky, Nico Muhly, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Glenn Kotche, Mason Bates, and Dennis DeSantis.

The November 19th show with Excepter, which was scheduled for the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan, has been moved downtown to the Bowery Ballroom. See you all there! |

We are excited to announce a very brief East and West coast tour kicking off November 19th! First stop is the Highline Ballroom in New York City, where MBM will be joined by Brooklyn underground improv noise weirdos, Excepter. Next up is Boston, to take part in the Brainwaves Festival, which will celebrate avant-garde and experimental sounds from such acts as Silver Apples, Matmos, Stars of the Lid, Lichens, Gary Wilson and Peter Christopherson of Throbbing Gristle's new band, Threshold House Boys Choir. And lastly, MBM will head back to California for a couple of dates in LA and San Francisco with hybrid beatsmith and producer Dub Gabriel.
